On Wednesday, April 30, 2008, the DCVB's Annual Tribute Luncheon honored the 20th Anniversary of the movie Bull Durham and its filmmaking family on contributing to and helping to preserve Durham's unique sense of place. The Bull Durham Filmmaking family Ron Shelton, Writer/Director Thom Mount, Native Son and Producer Stars: Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Robbins The event was held on "Coach K Court" in Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke University and hosted more than 700 of Durham's civic, business, university and neighborhood leaders in attendance. The annual luncheon, is open to the public, celebrates each year an individual or group that has contributed to and helped preserve Durham's unique sense of place, and is a benefit for Durham Careers in Hospitality, an award-winning partnership between DCVB and Durham Public Schools.
