Insider Sports Marketing is Excited about the ABA Returning to North Carolina
If you haven't already heard, the Triangle region will soon be the home of a professional basketball team. It is rare in the history of a community or any populated region that a single activity or interest would dominant the publics' imagination and leisure interests. But, without much argument and with history to back it up, basketball and its legacy in this area has done just that.
It should not come as a surprise to the basketball faithful in the Triangle, that Durham would again, strive to reach hardwood greatness and add to its hoops history by welcoming a professional basketball team. The city of Durham and the Triangle has always been known to produce great players, coaches and teams, all of whom make this area arguably, the basketball "Mecca" of the United States.
From local basketball legends like John Lucas , Rodney Rogers, Paul Williamson, Carl Easterling and basketball innovator, John B. McClendon, to the CIAA, MEAC and ACC championship coaches and teams' up and down "Tobacco Road, " Durham and the Triangle region own a great legacy of basketball innovation, winning and community engagement. We, the Carolina Jaguars hope that through strategic community and business relationships we can help connect the regions past basketball greatness with its future sports development goals.
As a Raleigh/Durham native and the new General Manager, I simply hope that we can become a welcomed and productive member of region's robust basketball and sports landscape. Our goal is to produce a winning basketball team that engages the local community's interests while also increasing the economic impact of sports tourism in the region. Connecting your products, services and causes with sports are an invaluable way for businesses and organizations to actively engage an attentive audience and introduce you to new markets. We will be out all around the region in the coming months and I hope that you will take a moment to visit with us as we prepare to make "Tobacco Road" our home.
