Greater NC Sports announced today that it's bringing Greater NC Pro-AM back to the Triangle for a 2009 season.  Jerry Stackhouse is the celebrity host for this summer and North Carolina Central University has been selected as the season's University host.  2009 top sponsors include  State Farm and Addidas.

The 2009 season runs July 2 through August 9.  All games are played at NCCU's McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm plus two Wednesdays, July 15, 22.  The tournament finals will be held August 7, 8 and 9.

We are please to also announced State Farm as our title sponsor for this year.  State Farm Insurance is committed to supporting local communities through the Pro-Am's partnering organizations, and by helping build strong neighborhoods through positive programs and events.  As the title sponsor, local State Farm agents will regularly provide free giveaways at games throughout the summer.

Termed "The Rucker of the South," S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM mixes seasoned professional players with show-stopping rookies.  The league is a premier basketball showcase that combines professional players, local college superstars and top high school basketball talent all on the same team and all under one roof... where else will you find a Durham high-school all-star playing against Jerry Stackhouse or guarding David Noel?

John McCann of the heraldsun.com wrote in an article last summer, "I mean, where else can you not pay a dime and see NBA guys doing their thing?  Good seats, too!"

Admission is FREE and the games continue to support the Triangle community and many of its organizations, such as Bridge 2 Sports, Green Starts With Me, International Dementia Research Foundation, Communities in Schools of Durham, American Diabetes Foundation, and Triple Threat Foundation.
